Monique Yank passed peacefully yesterday. I loved her a lot, and I’m one of many who will miss her.

I got the news as people were arriving for our housewarming party, leaving me pretty scatter-brained in my role as host. It was nice to have sausages to turn and people to talk to, though. Thanks to everyone who came—your company was more appreciated than you could have known.
